I’ve had a heartfelt interest in Stringed Instrument Repair work over the last several decades and have pursued it with vigor and received some great training from a number of different mentors in the process. I’ve been helping a well known Twin Cities metro area violin shop with their overflow set-up and repair work since 2003. I worked in the repair shop at Elderly Instruments in Lansing, MI for several years in the late 80’s where I worked on all manner of stringed instruments under the tutelage of famed Martin restoration expert T.J. Thompson. I enjoy taking “basket case” Martin guitars and restoring them to their original condition and full potential. These days I limit my repair intake to acoustic instruments only as my interest and experience is with them.
